My name is Kasia, and I'm a photographer
I grew up in the early years of the 2000s when technology evolved to the point where everything switched from analogue to digital. I remember when my older sister bought her first camera, it instantly caught my attention. Just like my sister back then, I wanted to become a photo model, but life kept going and I got distracted by music and other things I wanted to do.
My whole life turned upside down when my family moved to The Netherlands and we never had enough money to buy high-tech products like cameras and computers, so I just forgot about it for a while. When I was in my teenage years I started writing a blog and to keep it interesting I took photos with my phone... and that's where my interest in photography came back.
After a while, I finally bought my first camera and found my way of taking photos. I took photos of strangers and caught moments nobody else saw besides me and my camera. Then, to grow in experience I contacted some friends of mine and started taking portraits. My portfolio looked better every day and I noticed that photography is something I'd like to do for a living, I just wasn't quite there yet...
As a wise man once told me, you can become good at anything as long as you do these three things every single day, which are: 1. practice, 2. practice, 3. once again practice. So, I practiced every day, explored different photography styles, and took photos of everyone and everything until I felt comfortable asking for money for doing what I do. I wanted to be able to tell someone's story with just a set of photos and that's how I came up with my business name "Catch The Stories".
In the meantime, my music career started to grow as well and I got an opportunity to take photos during the concerts, gigs and other events happening in The Hague where I live, so I took the opportunity. Concert photography has been my favourite so far. Taking photos of artists being in their element while listening to their music is just the place where I want to be, it's the perfect combination for a photographer who's also a musician.
Have a look at my portfolio and please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to work together. :)
